Brodit Fitting GuideStep 1 is to choose your preferred Brodit Holder for your device.
There are Brodit Holders available for the majority of handsets and you should use the Brodit search tool to input your handset make and model to see the options available.
The popular options are to have your Holder Passive (non charging), Active with cig plug for charging or Active for fixed installation - professional fitting recommended on this one!
As the holders are designed for specific handsets they would not fit a device that has a case or skin attached. This should be considered as the case would need to be removed before placing in the holder.
The exception is the Apple iPhone where there are Brodit Holders available that are adjustable.
These have 4 wheels on the reverse that can be firstly loosened to allow the sides of the cradle to be adjusted.
Once set to the correct width to fit the Apple iPhone with the case attached, the wheels can be tightened, allowing a good true fit each time the phone is inserted with no further adjustment needed.
Adjustable Brodit Holders are available for the Apple iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.
Step 2 is to select your preferred mounting position for your vehicle.
The Brodit ProClip is a strong ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic clip to attach to your vehicles dashboard to attach a Brodit Holder to. There are Brodit ProClip's available for the majority of vehicles and please see our Brodit ProClip search tool to view the mounting positions available for your vehicle.
Brodit ProClip's are easy to install, no holes are made in the dashboard and come complete with detailed fitting instructions.
Once in position the Brodit ProClip creates a flat plastic plate to attach a Brodit Holder to.
You should always install the Brodit ProClip to the vehicle before attempting to fit the Brodit Holder.
With the Brodit ProClip fitted on the vehicle you should firstly remove the Tilt Swivel mount from the reverse of the Holder by unscrewing the centre large screw on the inside of the holder.
This can then be attached to the previously installed Brodit ProClip using the 4 self tapping screws provided with the holder. No drilling is required, however it is advisable to mark the location for the screws ensuring the Tilt Swivel mount is attached level.
Once the Tilt Swivel is secure it is then just a case of re-attaching the holder and aligning the angle to suit the driver.
The holder is then simply tightened and the holder is in place.
