iPad fitted to a Rear Headrest

The Brodit Move Clip is designed to allow easy movement of your Brodit device holder between 2 vehicles - For example you may have a TomTom Sat Nav and 2 vehicles in the family. Using a Brodit Move Clip you could easily move your Brodit TomTom holder between vehicles without having to purchase 2 Brodit TomTom Holders.

Parts required would be a Brodit ProClip for each vehicle and a set of Brodit Move Clip's. Plus of course the Brodit TomTom holder for your correct model!

In the feature below we show how the Brodit Move Clip's are used to move an Apple iPad holder between the front and back of the car. You would also be able to remove the Brodit Holder and place away in the glove box and out of sight when it is not required.

 

This Brodit system was installed into a 2005 Saab 9-3 with a Brodit ProClip Centre Mount 653086 fitted to the vehicle's dashboard.

We then attached a the 'female' part of a Brodit Move Clip 213006 to the Brodit ProClip as shown.

With the Brodit 'female' Move Clip attached onto the Brodit ProClip this will allow a 'male' Brodit ProClip to be inserted and removed with ease when attached to the back of your Brodit Holder.

 

 

The 'male' Brodit Move Clip is now attached to the reverse of a Brodit iPad Passive Holder 511139. This is easily attached using the strong sticky pad which comes on the back of the Brodit Move Clip and also some small self tapping screws - Drive Safe and Legal can provide these if required.

Brodit Move Clip's can be attached to most Brodit Holders and are available in 2 sizes, Brodit Mini Move Clip's 213005 and Brodit Move Clip's Big 213006.

 

 

The Brodit iPad Holder is now secure in the front of the vehicle and can be removed with ease when not required and easily placed out of sight.

 

Next, we installed a Brodit Head Rest mount so that the iPad could be used to full effect in the rear of the vehicle while travelling. The main reason this was required was so that the iPad could be secure in a Brodit Holder to watch films on the move.

It is possible to purchase a dedicated, combined Brodit Headrest mount and Brodit Holder for the iPad which is item # 810510 however on this occasion, we decided to fit a separate Brodit Headrest mount and the other 'female' Move Clip so that the existing Brodit Holder for the iPad could be simply transferred from front to back.

First of all we fitted a Brodit Headrest mount 811010 to the rear of the Saab passenger seat.

This then left a plate that we could have attached a Brodit iPad Holder to by screwing straight into the plate, however as we wanted to use the Brodit Move Clip system we first of all attached a Brodit extension plate 215395 then a 'female' Brodit Move Clip 213006.

 

The Brodit iPad Holder can now be moved from the front of the vehicle and back again with ease.

 

The iPad can now be inserted in the Brodit Holder and used securely in the back of a car while travelling.

Although this may make your travelling a little easier, one thing I cannot guarantee is happy children :-) !!
